China methionine sellers slash prices to clear stocks
Prices of methionine fell significantly during the week ending May 19.
Prices of AA broiler plunged of late, further curtailing the demand for methionine, which was already weak. Meanwhile, more shipments arrived from Southeast Asia, helping to ease the supply crunch. Distributors and traders who held back releases earlier were therefore in a panic to clear stocks.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine dropped to the range of RMB52-60/kg
RMB1=US$0.1615 (May 22)
