Vice Minister Qu Dongyu met with Mr. Tr?n Thanh Nam, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, and his delegation in Beijing on 17 March 2017.
Vice Minister Qu started by inviting MARD to send a delegation to the China Hangzhou International Tea Industry Expo 2017 on 18-21 May. Vice Minister Qu noted that the MOA attaches great importance to the agricultural cooperation with Viet Nam, and will fully implement the consensus on agricultural cooperation reached between General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Xi Jinping and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguy?n Phú Tr?ng in January 2017, particularly the agreement on fish restocking in Beibu Gulf.
Vice Minister Qu suggested that the two sides hold the meeting of China-Viet Nam Joint Committee on Agriculture at an earlier date to intensify cooperation in animal disease control, integrated pest management, agricultural investment and trade, agricultural sci-tech exchanges, personnel training, crop breeding, agro-processing and traceability system.
Vietnamese Deputy Minister Tr?n Thanh Nam fully agreed with Vice Minister Qu, hoping that Viet Nam and China could make greater progress in agricultural cooperation.
